IF YOU THINK HOMOSEXUALITY IS THE WORST SIN, THINK AGAIN!
Let
me state it here very clearly that I do not advocate for, neither do I support
homosexuality in any form. As a Christian, homosexuality goes against
everything I believe and stand for.
That
haven been said, let me now go into the business of the day. Yes, if indeed you
think that homosexuality is the worst sin, then, I’d advice that you think
again. You see, it amazes me how we are very quick to judge and condemn others.
I think it gives some of us a sense of achievement and satisfaction. If not, I
wonder what right a corrupt politician, material obsessed pastor, a thief, an
armed robber, a promiscuous male or female will have in condemning another
person because he/she is gay or lesbian.
You
may have been wondering, what it is with this guy and pastors. Yes, they are
meant to be mentors and role models. As such, we must use them as examples
either positively or in the negative light. I know of a very prominent pastor
in my university days, He was on fire for God, dynamic and all. But he really
couldn't get his hands off women. In fact, there was an incident that happened.
After one of his ministrations that night in campus, he went back to his hotel
lodge. As it is the practice in campus, the sisters in the fellowship would go
and give him food and other basic things he would be needing. It happen that he
descended on one of the girls and was
practically begging her for sex. Of course, she refused, ran out of the
room and then reported the issue to us. Or rather, we got wind of the gossip.
This
is just an incident that we knew about simply because this particular girl
refused. How about those who would not resist his charms? Because believe me,
this preacher guy is dope! If this particular girl had accepted, they would
have done it and cleaned their mouth leaving no trace. Mr. preacher would have climbed the altar as if nothing happened. He still
would have preached the word and pronounced doom on all the sinners in the
congregation.
Personally,
I’ve had instances when I would feel as
if fire would consume me on the altar, and in other instances, I would
tactically boycott the altar for a season when ever I've been overtaken with a
fault. So, I am not writing as one saint sitting in judgment against fellow
preachers of the word. Am just trying to shed light on very sensitive and grey
areas that we have chosen to ignore, even when they stare us in the face.
There
is also this gist from a very trusted friend, of a popular minister of God, pasturing
a very large congregation in southern part of Nigeria, who was caught pants
down by the police on night duty having sexual relations with his campus
girlfriend in the back of his car. He settled
the police handsomely to keep their mouth sealed. Are you still wondering why
we no longer enjoy those raw powers as of old?
During
the early days of bombing in Nigeria, especially that of churches. I took it
upon myself to petition heaven in this regard. I asked God if He isn't the same
God that our fathers told us about? The God that delivered Israel with His
mighty terrible hand? The word of God to me was that "I am God, I change not, but my church has been polluted, I often descend
to shield and defend my church, but the evil and corruption that emits from the
church, I cannot stand".
How
did I arrive at the conclusion that Homosexuality isn't the worst sin there is?
Follow me as we consider the book of Ezekiel 16: 48-50.KJV
As I live, said
the Lord God,
Sodom they
sister hath not done,
She nor her
daughters, as thou has done,
Thou and thy
daughters.
Behold, this
was the iniquity of thy
sister
Sodom, PRIDE, FULLNESS OF BREAD,
And ABUNDANCE
OF IDLENESS was in her
and in her daughters, neither did she strength
the hand of
the poor and needy. And they were
HAUGHTY, and
COMMITTED ABOMINATION
before me:
therefore I took them away as I saw good.
(emphasis
mine)
From
my personal understanding of this passage, God’s major issue was with the sin
of pride
and haughtiness.
Sodom did not necessarily perish because of its sin of homosexuality. It was their
attitude that landed them into trouble. To sin with impunity is the worst form
of disrespect to God and He does not treat it lightly.
According
to God, Israel has committed more sins than Sodom. The questions that should
agitate our minds are; why are they are still in existence and are even called
God’s people? What is responsible for their preservation and special treatment?
Is God partial?
God
is never a partial God, He is a righteous and upright Judge. Attitude is all
that makes the difference. With Sodom, her attitude of pride and haughtiness
lead to her calamity and extinction. The attitude of humility and penitence preserved
Israel, coupled with God's covenant with them as a people.
While
Sodom sinned with impunity, Israel was always penitent and broken when its sins
are brought before it. Sodom sinned and rubbed it on God’s face. It's like saying what would you do? It’s
our life, we were born this way, we can choose to live life the way we want.
That my friend, is where the problem lies.
Did you
notice how their sins were listed, I guess, its according to their gravity by
God's standard; Pride, Fullness of bread, and Abundance of idleness, she did
not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy (they turned blind eyes and deaf
ears to the plight of the needy around them) All that mattered was luxury and
untamed pleasure.
In this
article, I will classify homosexuals into two groups. The first group are those
who are trapped in this lifestyle. They do not love or enjoy what they are
doing; in fact, the very act disgusts them, but at the same time, they cannot help
themselves. This group in my opinion is close to Healing and rehabilitation.
The second
group is where the problem lies. But for the era of grace, they would have been
long consumed like Sodom. They tell you, I did not make or create myself this
way. I care less what your opinion is about me. They even establish organizations
and clubs to further their interest. Some are commissioned to recruit as many
members as possible with the promise for material gain. In trying to convince
their prey, they make comments like; "everyone is doing it, even many
prominent people you least expect". My question then is, if everyone is
doing the wrong things, does it make it right? The major problem with people in
this group is the fact that they are sinning with impunity. That in my humble
opinion, is what God hates.
LETS DISCUSS IMPUNITY
To live a
life of impunity is like the doctrine of eternal security. Proponents of this doctrine believe that once
a person accepts Jesus Christ, as his saviour, he can never be lost. It allows
people to commit every sin under the sun without suffering any consequences for
their complete lack of righteous living.
A young man who goes about sleeping with
anything that wears skirt. The "manhood without boarders" who goes
about bragging about his conquests, is as bad as Sodom but for the era of
grace, he would have since ended like her. The same is applicable to a young
woman who sleeps with all the big boys in town for material gains, yet, she's
the first to sit in judgment over that hapless struggling gay boy or girl. The
truth is, your case is worse.
It is the
same with a pastor, who is having extra-marital affairs, both within and
outside of his congregation. Or, are you enjoying fullness of bread without
strengthening the hands of the poor and needy around you; today you are in the
United Kingdom, tomorrow in the U.S.A.
You are either flying 1st
class or using your private jet. Your case is very pathetic. You are worse than
Sodom, but for grace, you would have long been forgotten.
I've not
seen a continent more hypocritical in their ways than the Africa continent,
neither have I seen a people more impetuous than the western world. These two
traits, God abhors. The problem has
never been with the sin, it has always been about the attitude with which we
sin. God hates impunity!
PS: "My child, take not GRACE for an occasion to SIN. For SHE
is a double-edged sword. At the Close of the Age, GRACE shall lose her Romance and Tender Loving Care! She will rise like a fierce and
raging Tempest, requesting justice from us all! Dare to be in HER good book!"

The World is so guilty of impunty. May God help us. Well done Perez! I must say it touched me as well. More grace to u
