THE WONDER WORKING SPERM !
Someone once asked
"If Eternal security is Biblical – Does it mean that one can Sin with
impunity?" The doctrine of eternal security that once a person accepts
Jesus Christ as his savior, he never can be lost. The 'once saved, forever
saved' doctrine allows people to commit every sin conceivable under the sun
without suffering any consequences for their actions and complete lack of godly
living.
The doctrine of eternal
security in my mind therefore means that anyone can Sin with impunity
thereafter. This is the single reason why a youth pastor will be cohabiting
with a women he is not legally married to and yet have the audacity to mount
the alter and minister in the name of the Lord. Whatever happened to “shall we
continue in sin so that grace may abound?!
As if the teaching on
Eternal security hasn't done enough damages to the body of Christ
and the world at large, a young man in the city of Calabar told a trusted
friend that he has noticed a trend in his life. He said this: "I
noticed that any woman I sleep with ends up giving her life to
Christ."
What he is saying in
essence is that the blood of Jesus Christ no longer holds meaning. That it has
lost its potency. That his (the guy's) sperm now holds more 'transformative'
power and properties, converting sinners to saints via the bed of immorality.
Friends, is this not blasphemy?
It is not enough that he
is living a life of sexual immorality, but he has the audacity to attribute it
to God's saving grace. That in my opinion is sinning with impunity. There is no
difference between this fellow and Sodom. Like I tell as many people that cares
to listen; to sin with impunity is the greatest form of disrespect to God.
Granted, none of us can boast that he/she is without sin. Attitude
however is the dividing line (penitence vs. impunity). The Bible said, a broken
spirit and a contrite heart, He will not despise.
King Saul sinned, King
David committed more grievous sins, but he was forgiven and was called a man
after God’s heart. Sodom sinned, Israel committed more sin (Ezekiel 16:48-15)
But Sodom was wiped from the surface of the earth. It all boils down to
attitude. King David was broken, he regretted all his actions. Israel was
always penitent and sorrowful whenever she goes astray . But that isn't the
case with king Saul and Sodom. They were proud, they would rather explain
away their sins, than be remorseful and ask God for mercy.
To be living a
sinful life and have the audacity to tell someone that all the women you've
slept with ends up giving their lives to Christ is ant-Christ and it shows that
that dude has crossed the Rubicon.
This doctrine of
“Another Level of grace” has been pushed too far. It's quite shameful and
pitiful that our generation does not know that grace is a two edged-sword; she
can kill and make alive at the sometime.
The doctrine of eternal
security provides a cloak for those who wish to sin with impurity under the covering
of grace.
Believe me, whoever made
that statement would have been consumed in the old testament days. But we thank
God for grace. And no thanks to those who have seen it as an opportunity to
sin. Grace is the greatest gift that God bestowed on humanity at the expense of
our Lord Jesus Christ. Shamefully, grace has become a curse to many. We are the
generation on the ledge.
Like a wise man once
said “My child, take not grace for an occasion to sin, for she is a
double edged-sword. At the close of age, grace shall lose her romance and
tender loving care. She will rise like a fierce and raging tempest, requesting
justice from us all"
The same grace
that gives us all of God's riches at Christ's expense will at the close of age
tell many in clear terms, depart from me, I know you not. Dare to be in Her
good book!
